Complete the following steps to upgrade a StoreFront cluster when using NetScaler as the load balancer:
Note: This articles shows two StoreFront servers in a cluster (SF1, SF2) being upgraded.
- Disable SF2 from load balancing.(Note : Make sure you remove SF2 from the existing server group)
- Shut down SF2.
- Take snapshots of SF2.
- Start SF2 and upgrade SF2 to the required StoreFront version.
- Test StoreFront upgrade by connecting clients directly to upgraded SF2 StoreFront server.
- Enable SF2 in load balancing and disable load balancing on SF1.
- Shut down SF1.
- Take snapshots of SF1.
- Uninstall the currently installed version of StoreFront in SF1 and install the new version of StoreFront.
- Join the newly installed server into a new server group consisting of all the upgraded servers and the freshly installed servers, and check they are functioning correctly.Test StoreFront upgrade by connecting clients directly to upgraded SF1 StoreFront server.
- Test StoreFront synchronization by clicking 'Propagate changes'.
- Restore load balancing.
